Cookie Baking Night (02/27/2023)

 Tonight was Cookie Baking Night. In attendance this evening: Allison, Rylar, and Abigail.

We went classic tonight. We made chocolate chip cookies. 

We're still working through the book of Romans in the Bible using the Kaleidoscope book "The Greatest Hero" 

We had some art time tonight. I had a bunch of pre-made craft kits, and I let the kids each choose a couple they could make. 

Allison chose a finger puppet kit.

Rylar chose a fire engine and a rocket. 

Abigail chose a princess and a puppy dog

the Minnie Mouse sunglasses were just a bonus item I've had a for a long time but never used them for their original purpose. They fit Abigail (both physically and in personality), so she went home with those too. 

It was a sweet and fun time and Cookie Baking Night this evening. I thank God for these opportunities. 

Cookie Baking Night (02/13/2023)

 Tonight was Cookie Baking Night. In attendance this evening: Allison, Rylar, Enzo, and Abigail. 

For supper tonight, in honor of upocoming Valentine's Day, we had heart-shaped pancakes (with strawberries and whipped cream). 

We made peanut butter blossoms (with chocolate hearts instead of chocolate stars)

While the Rylar, Enzo, and Abigail played with some toys ....

Allison and I practiced our handlettering. 

Another Cookie Baking Night has come and gone, and we had a fun time. 

Cookie Baking Night (01/23/2023)

 Tonight was Cookie Baking Night. In attendance this evening: Allison, Rylar, and Abigail.

Tonight we made Grandma Dee's recipe for Mud Cake. It's an Oseid Family favorite. 

It turned out pretty good. The kids like it best without frosting, so our job ended there. Easy peasy.

For our Bible time this year, we started a new Bible book series from Kaleidoscope. It's a company that is writing an illustrated children's Bible, book by book. It's written at an elementary child level. I've ordered a few of them so I can read them ahead of time. Papa-Larry has also read them ahead of time as my test focus group. He really likes them. 

So, I decided to start with the Book of Romans, titled "The Greatest Hero". So far, they really captured the kids' attention, from oldest to youngest, and has sparked a lot of good conversation. I orderd a coloring book that goes with each book too. The kids color a page while I read a couple chapters from the book. It's been working out very well so far. I would definitely recommend Kaleidosope Kids' Bible books as a resource. 

Another Cookie Baking Night has come and gone and, as usual, a fun time was had by all.

Cookie Baking Night (01/09/2023)

 Tonight was Cookie Baking Night. In attendance this evening: Allison, Rylar, and Abigail. 

Tonight we decorated mitten-shaped sugar cookies.

First, we colored the frosting to the colors of our choosing. 

Then, we baked and decorated. 

They turned out pretty cute!

As usual, a fun time was had by all. 

Cookie Baking Night (12/20/22)

 Tonight was Cookie Baking Night, and it was a our Niece and Nephew Christmas party. In attendance this evening: Carissa, Allison. Rylar, Enzo, and Abigail. 

As usual, we started the party by decorating a gingerbread house-shaped cookie. Eveyone loves this part. They get to show off their own style. 

But, no one enjoys this part more than Uncle Greg does. He hasn't missed a chance to decorate one of these cookies yet. 

Next, we read the Christmas story from the Bible. 

Followed by playing the dice game for prizes. 

Another Cookie Baking Night, another Niece and Nephew Christmas party has come and gone. 

As usual, a fun time was had by all.
