Cookie Baking Night 08/27/18

Tonight was Cookie Baking Night. In attendance this evening: Allison, Enzo, and Rylar. And a special guest appearance by Carissa. (We didn't think Carissa was going to make it tonight because she had an open house for school, but she finished a little early and asked her mom to bring her because it was Allison's birthday choice--Allison was thrilled to say the least). Allison turned 8 years old last week.

For Allison's birthday choice she opted to make "dirt cups".

I think gummy worms is the highlight of this dish for the kids.

At the end of the night, we walked up to the local gas station for an ice cream treat.

As usual, a fun time was had by all.

Cookie Baking Night 08/13/18

Tonight was Cookie Baking Night. In attendance this evening: Ethan, Carissa, Allison, Rylar, and Enzo. Tonight was Enzo's birthday choice (he turns 5 years old in two days). His only request was a big giant waffle. I got as close as I could with some "extra thick" waffles. He said, "That's exactly what I wanted!" (I'll take it). We had a hard time narrowing down a cookie choice for him (he was stuck on "big giant waffle"). We landed on my suggestion of chocolate chip cookies but settled tonight for oatmeal chocolate chip cookies when we ran out of brown sugar (Betty Crocker Cookie Mixes to the rescue).

This is what happened when I said "Smile"

For our Bible time tonight we continued learning about the book of Genesis.

We learned that Genesis is the first book of the Bible. It has 50 chapters in it. It was written by Moses.

If you're wondering about what you will read about in the book of Genesis, here are few of the topics:
Creation, Adam & Eve, Cain & Abel, Noah/the flood/the ark, Abraham & Sarah, Isaac, Jacob & Esau
Joseph

We continued working on our memory verse: Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

Since it was Enzo's birthday choice we walked to the local gas station for a treat.

We've been there many times, but the decision is still a hard one for Rylar and Enzo.

It's important to survey all the options.

It hit 90 degrees again today, so I thought it would be a good day for a little water balloon fun.

Ethan agrees.

As usual, a fun time was had by all.

Today was a beautiful, unseasonably warm April day in Minnesota. The thermometer hit 81 degrees. I also had an unusual amount of energy for ...
