Bible Musings (Zephaniah)

Context: Zephaniah prophesied during the reforms of King Josiah, who brought spiritual revival to Judah after the long and disastrous reign of Manaasseh. Zephaniah pronounced God's judgment on corruption and wickedness but also his plan to restore Judah.

"Woe to her who is rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city! She listens to no voice; she accepts no correction. She does not trust in the LORD; she does not draw near to her God." Zephaniah 3:1-2

MacArthur Bible Study note: Jerusalem was soon to learn that to reject God's correction leads to destruction (as described in Prov 5:23).
