Bible Musings (James)

How appropriate that today I'm in the book of James. Our pastor at church just started a sermon series on the book of James. Yesterday, the sermon was on "the joy of suffering". The sermon centered on James1:2-4, pointing out that we are called (as Christians) to "count it all joy" when we suffer not if we suffer, as in this present world, trials and suffering are sure to come our way.

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James 1:2-4
